Proving yet again why SkyTrak is North America's #1 best-selling telehandler line, the SkyTrak® 6034 and 6042 telehandlers have been redesigned from the ground up to meet the evolving demands of today’s job sites.

The brand-new 6034 telehandler replaces the previous 6036 model, while the 6042 telehandler has been updated with new features inspired by the way customers work.

For example, these machines’ new, lighter-weight design and smaller footprint allow for more cost-effective transportation without compromising performance. And, enhanced technology on these models, including an advanced control system, allows for more options and improved diagnostics, while functional enhancements allow for greater productivity.

Let’s take a closer look…

Progress without compromise
By understanding the demands and challenges crews face on work sites day after day, the updated 6034 and 6042 telehandlers are spec’d with features and capabilities directly inspired by the needs of those who need them most, delivering customers’ most requested features with zero sacrifice.

Key specs for these models are:

Key features of the newly redesigned SkyTrak 6034 and 6042 telehandlers include:

  • Lightweight design and reduced footprint
  • Advanced control system
  • Optional operator enhancements
  • Joystick updates
  • Hydrostatic transmission
  • Updated cab design
  • Service enhancements
These models’ lightweight design combined with their optimized boom and frame structure offers more efficient transport and reduces transportation costs. The reduced size and weight allow for three 6034s to be transported on one flatbed trailer or two 6042s on one flatbed trailer. Designed with independent contractors in mind, the 6034 can be transported with a pick-up truck and trailer.

Reducing their footprint from the models’ previous design, these telehandlers’ 95-in width and smaller tires improve turning radius to offer best-in-class maneuverability. And, the redesign didn’t impact their overall ground clearance, enabling them work efficiently on undeveloped terrain.

The advanced control system on the 6034 and 6042 allows for more technology options, like Load Stability Indication (LSI), a system that senses when the telehandler reaches forward load capacity enabling operators to work with greater confidence and Seatbelt Engagement and Operator Presence (SEOP) with a high-visibility orange seatbelt enhance safety through visual and audible alarms, as well as limiting machine functions. It also provides enhanced connectivity which results in access to richer telematics insights and the ability to offer remote diagnostics for improved troubleshooting capabilities.

These models’ updated single joystick is electric over hydraulic for greater multifunction capability. The auxiliary hydraulic function and attachment tilt are included on the joystick for enhanced productivity.

The machines’ hydrostatic transmission provides greater control and ease of operation. It also includes inching functionality to enable the operator to run the boom at high speeds without shifting the transmission into neutral. This allows for faster delivery of materials at height.

Improved cab styling features a larger LCD display for a more data-rich interface, and larger single-page load charts are standard for added convenience. The rear access door on the frame has been replaced with a bolt-on panel for added durability. Enclosed cabs on these models are available with optional air conditioning for comfortable operation on hot or humid job sites and are fitted with flat glass, which has a lower replacement cost.

Serviceability is also improved on these models thanks to a 30% reduction in hydraulic hoses and connections, resulting in fewer potential leak points. The single compensation and lift cylinder boom design, which improves boom speeds on these models by 8% over the previous design for increased productivity, streamlines maintenance because there are fewer components to maintain. And, the top-mounted telescope boom cylinder provides easier access to key service points.

Add-on accessories

These updated telehandlers are ideal for pick-and-place applications, such as handling, loading and unloading bulk materials on demanding residential, commercial, urban and suburban job sites across America. Offering operators flexibility and adaptability no matter the job, the array of telehandler attachments for the redesigned 6034 and 6042 models include:

  • Standard carriage
  • Side-tilt carriage
  • Swing carriage
  • Side-shift carriage
  • Dual-fork positioning carriage
  • Pallet forks
  • Lumber forks
  • Cubing forks
  • Material bucket
  • Fork-mounted extendable truss
  • Truss boom
  • Fork-mounted work platform
  • Coupler-mounted lifting hook
  • Fork-mounted lifting hook

With the auxiliary hydraulic connections relocated to the side of the boom head, changing attachments on these SkyTrak telehandlers has reached a new level of efficiency.

Additional operator enhancements are available on these models including a multi-reverse camera that displays left, right and rear views from behind the machine during day or night operation on a single, tri-view monitor. A reverse-sensing system with an audible in-cab alarm that alerts the operator of any rear obstructions when driving in reverse. And, a white noise backup alarm emits a directional alarm when driving in reverse to help enhance worker safety outside the machine and provides a higher degree of operator confidence inside the machine.
