Insights from JLG’s Leadership: Creating a Greener Future

Sustainability is not a fad.  Electrification is not the future. Electrification is now.

As a leader in innovation, the emergence of electrification spurred an initiative that is driving JLG toward a decarbonized future.

Building greener access equipment at a glance

With a commitment to reducing emissions in the company’s equipment manufacturing and operating process, JLG’s leadership says that sustainability is at the forefront of creating a greener, more sustainable future in the access industry.

Here’s what they have to say…

Shawn Knox, Vice President of Global Manufacturing

Our customers’ sustainability is important to them. Electrification is important. Whether it be a hybrid or

dual fuel, we're bringing products to market that are good for the environment.

At the same time, we are changing how we manufacture to have the lowest possible carbon footprint to help them and us meet our goals.

It's our duty to protect our team members, our environment, and the communities in which our families and team members live and work every day.

Our goal is to improve the world — that's what we do for a living.

Rogerio dos Santo, Vice President of Strategy and Product Management

We're constantly assessing and matching the current state of technology in terms of electrification or alternative fuels.

We are also examining where our customers want to take that technology and where our products are so we’re ready to go.

Shashank Bhatia, Vice President of Engineering

We are accelerating the path to carbon-neutral sources, so we are developing products that were typically IC (internal combustion), like boom lifts and telehandlers, and are going to convert them to EC (electric).

Tim Morris, Chief Commercial Officer

Our customers are very sophisticated, and they have sustainability targets and goals. They have adhered to certain standards and want us to produce cleaner and greener products.

We have a social responsibility, a responsibility to the historical stakeholders, to our employees and to our customers, and we're going to fulfill that promise.

This is not going away. This isn't a fad. This is something that's here to stay, and we need to be contributing to that.
