McConnellsburg, Pa. — February 19, 2019 — JLG Industries, Inc., an Oshkosh Corporation company [NYSE:OSK] and leading global manufacturer of aerial work platforms and telehandlers, will debut its ClearSky™ Access Control at the ARA Show, February 18-20 in Anaheim, California (Booth #5441). This optional safety tool allows rental companies to safeguard their machines and add an additional layer of protection for end users by preventing unauthorized personnel from accessing equipment.
“As the leader in access industry telematics and as part of our ongoing commitment to safety, JLG is pleased to offer our customers another level of security with their equipment,” said Hampden Tener, JLG senior director of global product management. “ClearSky Access Control gives rental companies and supervisors additional peace of mind on the job site, and it represents another customer inspired innovation from JLG.”
Machine operators receive a unique ID number or “smart card” that allows them to access only the equipment they are authorized to operate though the RFID reader on the machine. The rugged, glove-friendly keypad is environmentally sealed and rated to withstand harsh weather conditions. Usability is further enhanced with a bright LED display that remains visible in bright sunlight.
In addition, the web-based ClearSky portal provides real-time management of operator accessibility as well as equipment usage reports and operator performance data analysis. Access Control also gives supervisors the ability to add operators in half the time, compared to other solutions, as well as allowing for remote management of users, machine lock-out and access. The kits are available for machines with ClearSky telematics already installed.
