Enhancing how customers connect with training through a simple user interface, more engaging content and better management tools.
McConnellsburg, PA (December 21, 2023) — JLG Industries, Inc., an Oshkosh company [NYSE:OSK] and a leading global manufacturer of mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs) and telehandlers, has updated its JLG® University learning platform to enhance the way it delivers JLG’s world-class training programs through a more modern, industry-leading experience. JLG University offers ANSI-required safety training courses for machine operators, service technicians and supervisors. It also has a robust Train-the-Trainer program, which qualifies instructors nationwide to train operators.
Training opportunities available through JLG University help develop safety and confidence in jobsite crews while making sure on-site supervisors and equipment users are compliant with the most up-to-date industry standards and regulations. “As the access industry continues to experience exponential growth, the need for quality, expert-led training is more important than ever. That’s why we’re making significant investments in our training offerings, combining JLG University and AccessReady into one, all-encompassing, all-new JLG University platform,” says Rick Smith, JLG’s director of product training.
The all-new JLG University offers users access to a robust library of training content and videos, as well as new learning paths for continued growth. Smith says as part of the site’s upgrades, training managers also have new ways to manage and track their employees’ training, including the ability to assign specific courses, view students’ progress through the programs and download completion certificates and access new digital operator IDs. For instructors in the JLG Training Network, their all-new, improved user experience includes more resources and teaching aids, the ability to efficiently purchase and assign courses and access to new business-creation tools.
“This all-new platform enables us to deliver our world-class training to our customers through a truly industry-leading experience,” adds Smith, “helping them to grow their skills and increase the knowledge they need to excel in an evolving construction industry.”
Another important part of the site upgrade, says Smith, is that JLG University is now available through a single sign-on and connects with other JLG platforms, including JLG.com and OnlineExpress. This allows JLG to offer training opportunities for users to access along their equipment journey. To facilitate different learning needs within the industry, JLG University courses are available in several formats, including:
- In traditional classroom settings at JLG training centers and customer locations
- Instructor-led online training
- Self-paced e-learning
With this new site, the JLG Training team can also now collect customer feedback and use those insights to improve the training experience over time. "With this new system, we have the ability to be agile in our improvements and training offerings based on the needs of our customers. It is an exciting step into the next generation of learning," finishes Smith.
