In 1994, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) implemented a program to significantly reduce emissions from off-highway diesel engines. This program has rolled out regulations in stages, called Tier levels. Each successive Tier level has been more stringent in limiting major pollutants in diesel exhaust. The latest emissions level is Tier 4 Final. For our telehandlers, the use of Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) has been introduced as a method to meet the latest Tier 4 Final emissions regulations in engines larger than 74 horsepower. JLG offers a variety of horsepower options to meet each of your unique requirements.
The JLG and SkyTrak® telehandlers feature Tier 4 Final compliant engines. The new engine installations not only provide a higher level of fuel efficiency, but also reduce the impact on the environment.
Tier 4 final compliant machines include:
JLG is committed to providing environmentally friendly equipment.
